Trades Helper Program
The Trades Helper program provides students with a 12 to 16 week apprenticeship carpentry training program under the direction of a Journeyman carpentry instructor. Training not only provides a solid foundation in the basics of carpentry and home maintenance and repair, it also allows participants to count their hours towards their own journeyman papers.
In the past 3 years, this group has been responsible for the interior millworks on all new housing projects undertaken by SBCS, which has reduced costs on each project and provided superb "real world" training opportunities in the organization’s extensive Affordable Housing portfolio.
